One man was killed and two other people were injured Thursday night after a man opened fire in a Starbucks in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. A 12-year-old boy was among the victims and was reportedly carried away by witnesses with a gunshot wound to the groin, according to the Chicago Tribune. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m., and police say it appeared to stem from a drug deal gone wrong. Police Town Hall District Cmdr. Marc Buslik said the gunman’s target was the man killed at the scene, who had apparently been followed into the store after a dispute. The suspect, who was still at large as of Thursday night, reportedly wore a black mask when he entered and began firing. “He walked right in the store and just shot three people,” said Bryan Stroud, a witness cited by the Tribune.
