A 13-year-old girl sitting in shallow water at Fort Pierce Beach in Florida was attacked by a shark—and fought it off. “It wouldn’t leave me alone, so I had to use my arm and use my hand too, so it got my arm and my finger,” said Ella Reed, who ended up with 19 stitches. Her mother heard her shouting and was shocked by what she saw. “It was insane because she was totally covered in blood pretty much from head to toe,” she told WPLG.
