Middle Tennessee State University defeated second-ranked Michigan State 90-81 in a huge NCAA tournament upset Friday afternoon. MTSU was ranked 15th seed in the Midwest bracket, and their defeat of a 2-seed team marks only the eighth time such an upset has ever happened in NCAA tournament history. The last instance was Florida Gulf Coast’s unseating of Georgetown in 2013.
