Arkansas 15-Year-Old Wounded in ‘Targeted’ School Shooting: Police

“This was not random,” Pine Bluff Police Lt. David DeFoor told NBC of the shooting at Watson Chapel Junior High.

A 15-year-old Arkansas student is in “extremely critical” condition after being shot by a 15-year-old boy in a school hallway Monday morning, in what authorities are calling a “targeted” shooting, according to NBC News. “This was not random,” Pine Bluff Police Lt. David DeFoor told NBC of the shooting at Watson Chapel Junior High. The suspect later surrendered to authorities without incident, according to NBC. Authorities did not release the names of the victim or the suspect. Earlier Monday, authorities announced that the wounded student had been killed, but later in the day DeFoor told NBC that the children’s hospital in Little Rock had given them “erroneous information.”
