16 Dead in Attack on Ivory Coast Hotels

Officials say that six gumen stormed three resort hotels in Ivory Coast on Sunday and killed 16 people. A spokeswoman for the president said 14 civilians, two soldiers and all six attackers were killed in Grand, Bassam, a popular beach resort located south of the capital. Qaeda affiliate Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb claimed responsibility for the attack. A French citizen was among those killed, according to Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault of France.
