Two of the Charlie Hebdo journalists who survived the massacre that killed 12 of their fellow staff members are leaving the newspaper. Artistic director Luz—who drew the cover cartoon of a weeping Mohammed saying “All is forgiven” the week after the attack—communicated in a cartoon in this week’s issue that next week would be his last on staff. Medical emergency assistant Pelloux also said in an interview Saturday that he would be leaving “probably” in January.
