Two Maryland sheriff's deputies were killed on Wednesday after a gunman opened fire at a Panera Bread restaurant. The man was fatally shot by authorities after he fired at the two deputies, according Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler. Officials did not immediately identify the deputies. David Brian Evans, 67, was wanted on a warrant in Florida for assaulting a police officer as well as on a civil writ in Harford County. Authorities received a call that a man was behaving suspiciously at the restaurant during lunchtime. When a deputy arrived, Evans shot him and fled the scene. Evans then shot a second deputy chasing him before he was gunned down by two other deputies. The two other deputies have been placed on administrative leave while the department investigates the shooting.
