So many people want to go to Mars ... forever. Mars One, the project that will ultimately send humans on a one-way trip to Mars by 2023, has received 202,586 video applications from more than 140 countries. The committee for the controversial plan will take the coming months to narrow down the final selection of applicants, most of which came from the United States. To determine the 24 to 40 chosen ones, the candidates will have to compete in mental and physical challenges. Those selected will then be put in a training program, which will last for seven years until they’re entirely ready for the 2023 blastoff.
