31-Year-Old Conservative Set to Become Next Austrian Chancellor

Austria’s right-wing People’s Party is on track to win the country’s general election, with 31-year-old Sebastian Kurz set to become the youngest world leader. The People’s Party won 31.5 percent of the vote, edging out the Social Democrats who came away with 27.1 percent. The far-right Freedom Party came in a close third, winning 25.9 percent of the vote. That party has campaigned on anti-immigrant positions, and Kurz might have to form an alliance with them in order to form a government.
