A 14-year-old girl who was shot in the head after a student opened fire inside the cafeteria of Marysville-Pilchuck High School last week died on Friday night. The total death toll in the shooting is now up to four, including the shooter, 14-year-old Jaylen Fryberg. Shaylee Chuckulnaskit died on Friday afternoon, a week after the shooting. “The entire Providence family is deeply saddened by this news and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to Shaylee’s family,” Dr. Anita Tsen of Providence Regional Medical Center said in a statement. The other victims of last week’s shooting include Zoe Galasso, who died at the scene, and Gia Soriano, who died Sunday from critical head injuries in the shooting. Both girls were 14. Two other students are still hospitalized. 15-year-old Andrew Fryberg remains in critical condition and Nate Hatch, 14, has been upgraded to satisfactory condition after undergoing surgery to repair his jaw. Both are cousins of the shooter.
