Four children were killed early Saturday when a fast-moving fire tore through a row of two-story homes in southwest Philadelphia. At least 10 houses were destroyed and 40 residents displaced. According to fire officials, the fire began just before 3 a.m. and was brought under control about an hour later. Local resident Jeff Boone said he saw a couch on fire on one of the houses’ porch and heard children screaming. He says the flames spread from house to house so quickly that “it looked like someone had a flamethrower and just shot it all across.”
