The first Western reporter has died in the Gaza conflict. Simon Camilli, 35, was accompanying a bomb-disposal team, along with a translator and photographer, when an Israeli artillery shell they were trying to move exploded, killing the team members, Camilli, and the translator, Ali Shehda Abu Afash. An AP photographer, Hatem Moussa, was injured along with two other people. A 72-hour truce between Israel and Palestine that is about to expire had given temporary breathing room to the region.
