500 Children Lost in Cape Town

On New Year’s Day at beach.

Roughly 200,000 people hit the beach on New Year’s Day in Cape Town, South Africa, and by the end of the day, roughly 500 children had been lost. Even more startling, by the end of the day, about 70 children still had not been collected by their parents. Most of the children that went uncollected were under 7 years old. The children were subsequently ferried to police stations to spend the night.
