50,000 Gather at Moscow Rally

The day before Crimea votes to secede in favor of joining Russia, up to 50,000 gathered at a rally in Moscow to oppose the country’s intervention in Ukraine, shouting, “The occupation of Crimea is Russia’s disgrace.” Ukraine and the West have called the vote illegal and the U.N. Security Council is set to vote Saturday on a resolution (drafted by the U.S.) that defines Crimea’s referendum as illegal.
