9 Killed in Philippines’ Typhoon Goni

Landslides caused by rainfall from Typhoon Goni killed five people on Saturday, bringing the total death toll from the typhoon to nine, officials said. Goni, which has packed winds of up to 115 mph, is currently estimated to be 65 miles off the coast of the northernmost coast of the Philippines and moving toward southern Japan. "There was a new landslide early this morning, which buried some houses," said Nestor Fongwan, governor of Benguet province. "We've pulled out four bodies."
