New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s comments about vaccines being a parental choice have caused controversy for the presidential prospect this week, but his constituents appear to agree with him. During the 2013-2014 school year, New Jersey received 9,000 requests for religious exemptions from vaccinations. That marked a fourfold increase from the 2005-6 school year. Olivia Nuzzi reports Christie said he stood with parents concerned about vaccines while he was running for office in 2009 and said he would give them greater freedom to refuse inoculations.
