Thousands of unidentified human remains from the September 11 attacks were returned to Gound Zero in Manhattan during a solemn ceremony Saturday. The remains included 7,930 fragments of human tissue that forensic analysts were not able to identify. The return to Ground Zero divided families of the nearly 3,000 victims of the 9/11 attacks, with some conducting a protest nearby. The protesting relatives argued that the remains should be placed in a respectful memorial, not in the basement of the 9/11 museum.
