Trash once overflowed the streets of Morro dos Macacos, an impoverished favela in Rio de Janeiro. Regina Maria da Silva's life there was equally bleak—until she embarked on the Coca-Cola backed Clean Project, which removed the refuse and brought new income and dignity to Morro's residents.
