A-Rod Gets Hit by a Pitch

But Yankees manager Joe Girardi is tossed from the game.

Calm down, Boston, it’s not like anyone actually wants Alex Rodriguez on the field either. Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster hit Rodriguez with a pitch on Sunday night—but Yankees manager Joe Girardi ended up being ejected from the game. Dempster reportedly threw several pitches at Rodriguez before hitting him, leading to speculation that he had been looking for a fight. After Rodriguez was hit, the Red Sox quickly filed out of the dugout, but only Yankees manager Joe Girardi got out to argue for Rodriguez. Girardi ended up in a shouting match with the umpire, causing him to be ejected from the game and the Yankees banned from retaliation.
