The New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez and the San Francisco Giants’ Melky Cabrera are among the athletes mentioned in records from Biogenesis, an anti-aging company that may actually have been involved in selling performance-enhancing drugs. The now-closed clinic in Miami was run by 49-year-old Anthony Bosch, who had been investigated for allegedly providing Manny Ramirez with banned substances. The clinic’s records mention at least a dozen other star athletes and baseball pros. In a statement, the MLB said: “We are always extremely disappointed to learn of potential links between players and the use of performance-enhancing substances and have been active in the issues that have emerged in South Florida ... Banned substances ... have no place in our game.”
