Convicted murderer and former NFL tight-end Aaron Hernandez fired his defense team for an upcoming double homicide trial and replaced them with a new set of lawyers, including the attorney who defended Casey Anthony during her high-profile murder case. In a letter to media, that attorney, Jose Baez, declared that his client is "innocent" in the alleged 2012 Boston nightclub slaying of Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu and Safiro Teixeira Furtado; and that he intends to prove as much in court. Baez famously represented Casey Anthony in 2011 when she was acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee, in one of the most highly publicized trials of the decade.
