ABC News is investigating after a liveshot was recorded by a reporter from an allegedly staged crime scene. Correspondent Linsey Davis shot the scene while standing in a field in Woodruff, South Carolina, while she reported details of an incident in which a 30-year-old woman was held captive in a storage container. CNN obtained a photo allegedly showing that yellow crime tape had been strewn behind her for the purpose of its inclusion in the shot and not because it was actually the perimeter of a scene. "This action is completely unacceptable and fails to meet the standards of ABC News," said Julie Townsend, the vice president of communications at ABC News. "As soon as it was brought to our attention, we decided to take the producer out of the field, and we're investigating further."
