They say that money can’t buy happiness, but Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich put that theory to the test with a recession-unfriendly $5 million New Year’s Eve party. The blowout bash took place on the oil and steel magnate’s St. Barts estate and was attended by a menagerie of celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, and Miranda Kerr. The mogul, who is dating Russian socialite Daria Zhukova, paid a reported $567,000 each for performances by Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani, and Prince at the event. “Roman is new to the island and wants to come in with a bang,” a source explained.
