Minquell Kennedy Lembrick, the man accused of fatally shooting a police officer in Georgia, has died, police said Thursday. Mark Scott, police chief of Americus, would not say whether Lembrick, 32, took his own life, as was previously reported. Lembrick was on the run since he shot at officers responding to a domestic dispute at an apartment complex near George Southwestern State University on Wednesday. Officer Nicholas Smarr, 25, was killed and another officer, Jodi Smith, was in critical condition. Police posted a $70,000 reward for information leading to Lembrick’s whereabouts.
