The MAGA rep accused of beating his wife has been hit with a fresh scandal.
Rep. Max Miller’s girlfriend of two years has been indicted on a grand theft charge after prosecutors allege she spent $9,000 on Instacart using her ex-husband’s credit card without permission, a bombshell new report by Mother Jones has revealed.
Jaclyn Alatrash was first accused of racking up the massive Instacart bill in May. Now, Mother Jones has revealed how she allegedly spent so heavily on the platform—including $50.99 at Spirit Halloween, $107.31 at Ulta Beauty, $152.08 at the Vitamin Shop, and $207.81 at Costco, among others.
The magazine reports that the 33-year-old has now been charged with telecommunications fraud and credit card misuse in addition to grand theft. Her ex-husband, Matthew Kampert, told Mother Jones that Alatrash was not an authorized user on his credit card while they were legally married, let alone while divorced.

Kampert told police his credit card was illegally used from September 2025 to January. That makes it seven months after his and Alatrash’s marriage was legally ended in February 2025.
Rep. Max Miller has campaigned alongside President Donald Trump, who has not called for his resignation or withdrawal from his re-election bid.

That marks only the latest headache for Miller, 37, who is in the homestretch of a re-election campaign already marred by scandal. In addition to being accused of abusing his ex-wife, he is also being sued by his former spouse after he released a naked photo of their 2-year-old as he defended himself against domestic abuse claims.

Emily Moreno, the daughter of Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno, filed the lawsuit in August. Her senator dad, also a Republican, has since urged voters to not send his former son-in-law to Washington for a third term.
“Out of concern for the safety of my family, I hoped to keep this matter private, but Max Miller’s increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible,” Sen. Moreno posted on X. “He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake.”
Trump has declined to call for Miller to resign from Congress or drop out of his re-election race, saying in August he would “let the families figure that out.”
Miller says he shared the photo of his daughter inadvertently when he posted a link to a Dropbox folder online containing a trove of documents he claims vindicates him from the abhorrent abuse allegations made against him—like that he allegedly poured hot water on Emily Moreno, beat her, pointed a gun at her head, and potentially broke their 2-year-old daughter’s collarbone.
The congressman has repeatedly denied all accusations of abuse. His office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday.
