Patricia Neal, the Academy Award-winning actress, died on Sunday at the age of 84. Her Oscar came for her role in the 1963 film Hud, in which she played a housekeeper opposite Paul Newman. One year after winning the award, she suffered three strokes. She recovered with the help of her then-husband, children’s author Roald Dahl, who would go on to leave her for another woman. But she claimed that the love her life was Gary Cooper. "He is one of the most beautiful things that ever happened to me in my life,” she wrote in her 1988 autobiography. “I love him even now."
