Adviser: Mitt Left ‘Retroactively’

When exactly did Mitt Romney retire from Bain Capital? The presumptive GOP nominee has been struggling to answer that question since new reports surfaced that Romney was listed on SEC filings a full three years after he said he left the firm. "He took a leave of absence and, in fact, ended up not going back at all and retired retroactively to February 1999 as a result," senior political adviser Ed Gillespie said. Romney originally left Bain to coordinate the Salt Lake City Olympics, but records show he was traveling back to Boston for meetings with the company. Meanwhile, President Obama refused to apologize for the attacks on Romney’s time at Bain, saying “I think voters legitimately want to know, well what exactly was that business experience?”
