Two major healthcare providers are about to become one. U.S. insurer Aetna has agreed to pay $37 billion in cash and shares to rival Humana, valuing Humana at $230 a share. The introduction of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act has prompted an increase in healthcare deals due to new customers into the market and cost incentives. The merger is set to see approximately $115 billion in revenue for 2015 with 56% of that revenue coming from government-sponsored programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
