At least two people were killed and another 22 injured in a series of coordinated attacks on Wednesday in Kabul aimed at Afghanistan’s main spy agency. The Taliban sent a text message to the media about the attack but did not claim responsibility. At around noon a suicide bomber detonated a large car bomb near the entrance of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), and then Afghan officials shot and killed five people with explosives strapped to their chests as they tried to enter the compound. Police said two NDS guards were killed in the attack.
