Something new to be afraid of: Five people died in a natural-gas explosion in Allentown, Pennsylvania Wednesday—the third such explosion in recent days. The Wall Street Journal says there's "a growing consensus that the U.S. has a problem with aging infrastructure, particularly underground pipelines that are hard to inspect." The Allentown pipeline, for example, had been in service since 1928. The National Transportation Safety Board will hold hearings on pipeline safety next month.
