Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is visiting New York for the General Assembly meetings, said he expected talks with U.S. to resume over his country’s alleged nuclear program because “there is no other way.” Ahmadinejad repeated his denial that Iran had been hurt by the economic sanctions, which have forced Iran to look toward trade and investment from other countries, especially the developing world. The U.S. has said they will negotiate, but Tehran has rebuffed any offers to resume talks. Ahmadinejad and President Barack Obama are both scheduled to address the General Assembly in speeches Thursday.
