Four people detained with Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei have also been freed. Ai's journalist friend Wen Tao, his accountant Hu Mingfen, his studio's designer Liu Zhenggang, and the artist's driver, Zhang Jinsong, who all went missing in April, were allowed to go home Thursday and Friday. Ai was released on bail Wednesday after authorities said he "confessed" to tax evasion, widely believed to be trumped-up charges against the outspoken dissident.
