Searchers used sonar equipment to locate the plane wreckage from AirAsia Flight 8501 at the bottom of the Java Sea, a search and rescue official told CNN on Wednesday. It’s unclear whether the plane is intact or is broken apart, according to the official, Hernato, who goes by one name. As of Wednesday morning, 10 bodies had been recovered off the coast of Borneo as searchers battled strong currents and high winds in their recovery efforts. One of the bodies was a female wearing a flight attendant’s uniform, Indonesia Search and Rescue Chief Henry Bambang Soelistyo told the Associated Press. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash and have yet to locate the plane’s black boxes or cockpit voice and flight data recorders, but they have retrieved parts of the jet’s interior, a life jacket, an emergency exit door, and a suitcase.
