The online home-sharing service will offer rentals in Cuba to American travelers beginning Thursday, the latest in a string of recent U.S. business expansions into the island nation. A search for lodging in Cuba results in more than 1,000 properties, of which 40 percent are in Havana along with other tourist spots such as Cienfuegos. Airbnb has sent teams to Cuba in the last three months in an effort to get homeowners to sign up for the service. For the time being, non-American travelers will not be permitted to use Airbnb in Cuba.
