The U.S. Air Force is investigating alleged drug use among 14 members of a security force that guards America’s nuclear arsenal. The airmen at the F.E. Warren Air Force Base, near Cheyenne, Wyoming, are suspected of using cocaine while off-duty, among other allegations of illegal drug use. It’s a blow to an already intensely scrutinized nuclear-missile corps. The suspected airmen range in rank from Airman 1st Class to Senior Airman; they are responsible for securing the base, missile fields, and convoys that move nuclear weapons. An official called the accusations “credible.”
