Top al Qaeda commander Adnan el Shukrijumah was killed in Pakistan on Saturday, according to the Pakistan army. Shukrijumah was indicted in July 2010 for playing a role in planned terror attacks in the U.S. and Britain, including a plot to bomb the New York City subway. The 39-year-old was commander of al Qaeda’s global operations, a position once held by Khalid Sheikh Mohammend, the man who masterminded the Sept. 11 attacks. Shukrijumah was killed along with two others in a pre-dawn raid.
