There’s a tragically heartwarming development in the case of the 5-year-old boy who has been held captive underground in Alabama for almost a week, as the FBI said Sunday that it had delivered a red Hot Wheels car and Cheez-It crackers for the boy, along with food and medicine. Jimmy Lee Dykes boarded a bus last week, shot and killed the driver, and kidnapped the boy—who has a mild form of autism—and took him to a bunker, believed to be 8 by 6 feet. Authorities say Dykes “continues to make the environment as comfortable as possible for the child,” though, after being held hostage for seven days now, the boy “is most likely terrified.”
