A Randolph County sheriff's deputy was injured during a hostage situation and shooting on Saturday in Alabama, police said. He was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to reports. A suspect who was reportedly armed with a handgun and a rifle was holding a hostage in a camper in the area near Lake Wedowee, after he allegedly set fire to his son's yard, house and car. He reportedly killed his son's dog during the course of the event. The standoff ended just after 5 p.m. Further details were not immediately available.
