If you live in England, you are posh and you are heading out to kill things purely for fun with a rod or a gun, you wear two brands for certain; Hunter (rubber boots) and Barbour (jacket).
Still, we all have to pay the bills, so congratulations to Alasdhair Willis, better known as the dashing husband of the famously pro-animal rights designer Stella McCartney, named creative director of Hunter today during LFW.
"It is a genuine honour and a tremendous opportunity to be in this role at such a significant moment for Hunter," said Willis. "Hunter is a fantastic British brand with enormous potential. It has a very strong history dating back nearly 160 years, and I believe the Hunter story and spirit are just as relevant today. Going forward, we will be focused on expanding the footwear business while building on the exciting opportunities in other categories such as outerwear."
Willis' debut collection for the Huter will land for autumn/winter 2014-15. He will continue to work at the brand consultancy companies he co-founded, Announcement and The Anonymous Partner.
The word at Somerset House is that Stella's as delighted as he is.
