Alaska Air Group Inc is close to finalizing a deal to acquire Virgin America for over $2 billion, after outbidding JetBlue Airways. This would be the first airline merger in the United States since US Airways and American Airlines combined in 2013, making the world's largest carrier. The deal could be announced as early as Monday.
