Though officials originally reported that six people were left dead after a “domestic-violence” dispute spilled over into the workplace at Emcore Corp., a fiber-optics manufacturer in Albuquerque, that total has now been revised downward to three. The shooter was a former employee of the company and apparently his ex-wife or ex-girlfriend still worked there. (It is not yet clear whether she was one of the victims.) The gunman turned his weapon on himself after the assault, and is counted among the dead.
