A college Republican group from Ohio has attempted to disown a fundraising email it sent out which condemned Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a “domestic terrorist.” The Ohio College Republican Federation used the slur in its email subject header and went on to urge donations to help them fight against “social justice warriors” and the “brainwashing” of young Americans. The congresswoman responded Wednesday: “Almost every time this uncalled for rhetoric gets blasted by conserv. grps, we get a spike in death threats to refer to Capitol Police. Multiple ppl have been arrested trying to harm me, Ilhan, & others.” In a statement posted on Twitter, the Republican group tried to distance itself from the comment, writing: “The OCRF does not condone the unauthorized email sent out in our name. We apologize to Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez for the use of unacceptable language in this email, and we do not approve of the message conveyed.”
