On Friday, Amazon announced that it will be offering consumers access to a new subscription service that will have thousands of e-books and audiobooks for $9.99 a month. The service, called Kindle Unlimited, will allow users to read over 600,000 Kindle titles, as well as 2,000 more Audible audiobooks. It's like Netflix for books. Amazon is offering a free 30-day trial to entice consumer. The terms Amazon worked out with publishers whose books are part of the subscription was not disclosed, which is notable given Amazon's recent disputes with prominent publishers.
