Amazon to Unveil Tablet Wednesday

After much speculation, Amazon is finally due to unveil its upcoming tablet Wednesday. According to Tech Crunch, the device will be named the Kindle Fire. It will have a seven-inch display and look very similar to the BlackBerry PlayBook. And while the device—which will be sold in addition to, not in place of, traditional e-ink Kindles—will be on full display, it will not go on sale until the second week of November. Tech Crunch speculates that Amazon’s early announcement may have something to do with getting out ahead of Barnes & Noble, which is soon expected to announce the Nook Color 2.
