Amazon.com removed sales rankings from hundreds of books about homosexuality and feminism. Apparently, the giant book seller excludes "adult" materials from searches, but over the weekend "adult" came to include books about queer theory, coming out, feminism, and literature meant for rape survivors. Literary classics from authors such as D.H. Lawrence, James Baldwin, Annie Proulx. and Virginia Woolf were de-listed, while books such as porn star Ron Jeremy's biography and A Parent's Guide To Preventing Homosexuality were left on the list. Publisher's Weekly reports that an Amazon spokesperson attributed the de-listing to a "glitch."
