Gunmen abducted an American from his house in the city of Lahore on Saturday. The U.S. Embassy confirmed that the man was Warren Weinstein, who has been in Pakistan for at least five years working on development in tribal areas. He was scheduled to return to the U.S. on Aug. 15. He works for JE Austin Associates, a development contractor that works alongside the U.S. government's aid programs. No one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
