Investigation Discovery announces talent competition series.

Some performances are just criminal. Investigation Discovery—the new, Discovery-branded crime network—just announced it is developing two knockoff reality-TV contests set in the clink: Talent Behind Bars and Dancing Behind Bars. The latter show will be produced by Survivor creator Mark Burnett. The network’s chief Henry Schleiff admitted the two prison-based series were riding the coattails of Fox’s American Idol and ABC's Dancing With the Stars. “We're not trying to be exploitative,” Schleiff explained. “We're trying to be entertaining.” But don’t be alarmed—only petty offenders, such as drug convicts, will be able to partake in the fun.
