According to new statistics, a record number of firearms—2,212 to be exact—were found by the Transportation Security Administration last year. And 80 percent of them were loaded. The weapons, which averaged out to six per day, were found either in carry-on luggage or on a person’s body. Other objects such as knives and grenades were also found. The airports with the most violations include Dallas/Fort Worth International, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Houston George Bush, and Denver International.
