A second pharmaceutical company is recalling all of its products in the wake of the meningitis outbreak that has killed almost 30 people. Massachusetts-based Ameridose is voluntarily participating in the recall, but says it hasn’t received any reports of problems with its medications. Ameridose and the New England Compounding Center, which earlier this year manufactured steroids contaminated with fungus, are owned by the same group. The Food and Drug Administration has asked Ameridose to improve its sterility testing process. The move may create some drug shortages, and the FDA is working with other companies to fill the supply gap.
