Actresses Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski were reportedly arrested on Capitol Hill Thursday for protesting Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Variety reports. Schumer and Ratajkowski were both pictured in a line and being escorted by police. Ratajkowski confirmed her arrest in an Instagram post. “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault,” she wrote. “Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter.” In a video posted on Twitter, Schumer spoke into the camera and said she thought she was “going to get arrested” with other women. In an earlier video, a U.S. Capitol police officer asked her if she wanted to be arrested and the comedian replied, “Yes.” A total of 302 protesters were arrested, according to a Capitol Police press release.
